Born in New York, raised in San Francisco, came to Berlin in 1983 and has been a professional musician ever since. In California, played with The Blind Lemon Band and the Shroomtones. Also studied jazz and composition at De Anza College in San Jose.


Since 1983 has played many major european Blues and Jazz festivals (Amsterdam, Leverkusen, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Milan, Ravenna, Ascona etc.) with such artists as Champion Jack Dupree, Memphis Slim, Carey Bell, Queen Yahna, Rosay and Robert Cray. Has also played with Guitar Crusher & The Midnight Rockers, The Blisters, Element of Crime, Overhead, Eb Davis & The Radio Kings, Mike Russell and Black Heritage, as well as many others.

Played in the Rocky Horror Show band at the Berliner Kammerspiele and Cabaret at the Theater des Westens between 1987-88, also playing regularly at the Chameleon Variete in Berlin. Played often in many of the important clubs around northern Europe, including Quasimodo (Berlin), Sinnkasten (Frankfurt), Jazzhaus (Freiburg), Atlantis (Basel), Meervaart (Amsterdam), etc.
In 1990 did a tour of England with Tangerine Dream, playing the major halls of Great Britain including the Hammersmith Odeon in London. Has also recorded for film and TV with Tangerine Dream, and will be a future addition to this pioneering band. Played on the best-selling album An einem Sonntag im April by Element of Crime. Also busy in Berlin's studio scene, playing all styles from pop to jazz to experimental, and everything in between. The latest projects include work with Zam Johnson in a performance art group creating experimental sound collages and spontaneous compositions, and Power Unit, a hard edged 11-piece funk-soul band, and House of the Rising Funk, a jazzy hip hop group.
